Jean M. Westcott - Owner, Designer, Avid Gardener and Lover of all Things Beautiful...
I design artistic, client- specific, architecturally-appropriate gardens with a specialty in restoration design of older landscapes. Every project gives me the opportunity to help someone have the oasis of their dreams no matter how large or small. Each of my designs incorporates structural elements that help define the style and express the individuality of my client. My planting designs combine a contemporary pallete with an "Old-World" aesthetic to create lush environments that require less maintenance than you would expect from the traditional "English Border".
I have been fortunate; I have learned from and worked with some very talented teachers, horticulturalists and artisans during the course of my 25+ years in this
profession. My formal education includes a degree in Horticulture and Landscape Design from Temple University (1985) and a degree in Landscape Architecture from Rutgers University (1992) where
I graduated with Highest Honors. I am also the recipient of the ASLA ( American Society of Landscape Architects) Honor Award for Excellence and am an inductee into the Honor Society of
Landscape Architecture (Sigma Lamda Alpha).
No garden is ever the creation of just one person, I owe the success of my designs to the hard labor of many; to those who build, plant and manage
these spaces - Thank You!
